Today’s swim was short but tough. The first set was 300 yards kicking, followed by 6 x 50 arm drills. The main set was a series of 25-yard sprints with little rest followed by underwater swimming, sprints again and then a crazy underwater flip turn. In my 40+ years of swimming, I have never done an underwater flip turn. Ya, there was water up my nose. Thanks Adrienne :).
The new Triathlete magazine arrived a couple of days back and I read it last night. I am not a big Chris McCormack fan, but there is a really good 2-page article by him about his race fiasco in Kona. If you get a chance, pick up the magazine and read it. You too will have a new-found respect for Macca (and his family).
People fail. That’s why they succeed. Ironic it is. I leave you with this.
“I’ve missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.”
