The plan was to swim at 6PM today, but I got sidetracked at work and couldn’t leave the office until around 6:30. For those of you who know me, you know that I take pride in saying, “I have all the time in the world.” Well, that wasn’t the case today!
Instead of swimming, I went home, mounted my bike on my trainer and spun for an hour. I find riding a bike on the trainer harder than riding the bike on the roads. My dogs just look at me while I’m riding on the trainer and probably think I’m nuts!
The concentration now shifts to the PF Chang’s half marathon. I received the new training plan from Bill Wilson (Camelback Coaching) this afternoon and instructions on how to run the race. We’ll see how well I do (the goal is to do it somewhere between 1:38 and 1:40).
- Run the first 2 miles at Level 2 (up to 146bpm)
- Run the next 8 miles at Level 3 (up to 153bpm)
- Run the final 5k at Level 4 to 5a (up to 164bpm)
