Maybe it is all in my head, but somehow, Mondays are lazy days. Today was no different. Shelly and I had made plans to meet up at 6PM for a swim. I had to really work on my self-motivation to get myself to the gym. Even after I got to the gym, I was procrastinating and called a couple of friends to stall the swim. Finally, at 6PM, Shelly showed up and I had no choice but to get in the pool. I was even hoping that all lanes would be full and I would have an excuse to escape. Unfortunately (or fortunately), there was no such luck! I ended up doing only about 1,600 meters, but mixed in a few individual medleys in the midst. Butterfly is painful, but builds much-needed chest and arm muscles.
Plans for India are taking shape nicely. So far, we know the following:
- Leave Phoenix on the May 29 (fly Asiana Airlines via Seoul)
- Spend 1 night in Delhi (and eat at Bukhara for sure)
- Spend 1 night in Agra (and visit the Taj Mahal and Fatehpur Sikri)
- Travel by train from Bharatpur (near Agra) to Sawai Madhopur (near Ranthambhore) – (Will, Kristi, if you are reading this, get ready for some crazy train travel in India – see picture (insert smiley face here))
- Spend 3 or 4 nights in Ranthambhore (either 5 or 7 rounds in the jungle where we will search for tiger; the prize will be if we find Sundari who has been missing for a few months (more on her later))
- Drive to Jaipur and fly to Ahmedabad
- 6 or 7 nights in Ahmedabad (my hometown)
- Fly back to Delhi and back to Phoenix (arrive back on the June 14)
