Had my back been normal, I would have been writing this from Malibu. I would’ve gone through my checklist by now and would have been completely prepared for the race tomorrow. I would have visualized the start and the transitions and the finish. I would have thought about where and when to see Chrissie. On well…here’s a random picture of Chrissie signing autographs (I think this one is from last year’s Malibu Triathlon – I found it by a random Google search).

We went out to dinner with Don and Debbie today at Osha Thai. It’s a small family-owned place on Frank Lloyd Wright and Via Linda with excellent food. Since I will be resting for the next couple of days, I relaxed while Don, Debbie and Binita polished off a couple of bottles of wine. It was a fun, relaxed conversation ranging form TED talks to polities to travel.
My mother is still here in Phoenix and I think she is somewhat bored. We work all day and she doesn’t have much to do except read. I’m not sure what to do about it. It’s good that she has a few friends who keep her some company!
