After 2 days of easy swimming, I decided to get on my bike trainer today. It has been a week since I worked up some sweat and it felt really good to sweat this evening. It was only for 45 minutes and I wasn’t going all out, but my back is finally coming around. It still hurts a bit when I arch it back or make sudden movements, but it is so much better than this time last week.
My birthday is in a couple of days. I’ll be older but that doesn’t bother me. As I grow older, I graduate into less and less competitive age groups and qualifying for events becomes easier.
In 2014, my big goal is to qualify for the Boston Marathon. My A race will be the Phoenix Marathon on March 1, 2014. I have to run it under 3:30 to qualify; I plan to train hard for it and give it everything I have. Let’s hope I can stay healthy. For now, my focus is Ironman Arizona in November. I have less than 70 days to go!
