Towers ride

North Scottsdale has some really good bike routes. There are flats, gentle hills and grades that exceed 20%. You can go on a 10-mile ride or you can do a century (although you will go into one of the neighboring suburbs).

Kristi, Shelly and Mark came over to my place at around 1PM for a 40-mile ride today. It was a perfect afternoon with temperatures in the 60s and virtually no breeze. We rode north to the towers via Pima Road and back to my place via the Shell gas station in Carefree and back on Scottsdale Road. The best part of the ride was going downhill from the towers to the gas station. It was easily the fastest 6 miles I have done on my bike.
