Memories of Cleveland

A long lost friend from Cleveland called me today. It felt good talking to Joe; it was just like old times when I worked in the ghetto on 36th Street and Superior. Those were my carefree, single days when I played golf at public courses, was obsessed with the Cleveland Browns and lived in various apartments in Parma, Cleveland Heights and Mayfield Heights. It brought back some fond (and some not-so-fond) memories! I went to school at Case Western Reserve University in the 1980s and saw a Cleveland resurgence. I haven’t been back in this century to see what the city looks like, but from what I hear, it is not quite what it used to be!

Anyway, i rode for 90 minutes today north to Happy Valley and back to the office for a bit more than 23 miles. I hit a host of red lights in the beginning before finding my rhythm. It’s been warm in Scottsdale lately making for pleasant runs and bike-rides.
