Phoenix Marathon weather forecast doesn’t look good

The Phoenix Marathon is 3 days away. The weather forecast is not looking favorable. The general direction of the race is west (point-to-point) with a net elevation loss of about 850 feet. While the net elevation loss will help with speed, the forecast of 14MPH headwinds is going to hurt. For me to qualify for Boston, I not only need the elevation loss but a perfect race coupled by perfect weather conditions. It sure looks like I am losing the weather battle!

For my training today, I ran an easy hour around my office for a total of 7.25 miles. My heartrate was solidly at level 2 for most of the run. It gets easier for the next couple of days before race day (Saturday).
