When I ran the Phoenix Marathon on March 1, I needed a pace of 8 minutes per mile to qualify for the Boston Marathon. I actually ran a bit faster and finished the race in 2:28:28 and qualified with a minute and 32 seconds to spare. Since that day, I have had a whole host of injuries and medical issues. I just haven’t been able to run close to that pace. That changed today!!
While my run today was only 40 minutes on the treadmill, I ran at my marathon pace to run more than 5 miles. That even included the first 5 warm-up minutes and the last 5 warm-down minutes. My running is back to normal!
