In Hindi, an owl is called an ullu (or oolloo). Calling someone an ullu is akin to calling someone a fool or a dunce. In the west though, an owl is a symbol of wisdom. I wonder why two different cultures have vastly different symbology of the same beautiful bird. I tend to side with the west. Owls are not just wise and majestic, they are grand and beautiful.
This picture of a Great Horned Owl was taken this evening sitting on our chimney. I had just enough time to take this picture before he flew off into the distance. Gorgeous!!
For the final time today, I went to Lifetime Fitness for yoga with Gwen. My membership is finally done!
