Greenbelt-Canal long run | Kai catches his first fish

I ran long today; two hours and thirty minutes for a total of 18.24 miles. I started on the greenbelt by Scottsdale Healthcare on Shea and 92 street going south all the way past Indian Bend and Hayden where I took the canal all the way to 59th Street and Indian School before looping back to where I started. I stopped a couple of times to eat and drink. I regulated my heart-rate pretty nicely for about two hours, ate and drank properly and yet was starting to bonk right after the two hour mark. I stopped at a Chipotle restaurant to use the restroom and drink some ice water. By the time I finished, I was done. The temperature was in the 70s and I was hot and exhausted. Next week, I have a longer run.

Rahul and his kids came to the lake to go fishing in the afternoon. I took Missy and hung out with them for a while. Kai caught fish, and another, and another. He’s a patient kid; cute too! Ani talks a mile-a-minute but half the time I have no idea what she is saying.

Missy has been agile and active this week. I have to take her to the vet tomorrow for another blood check. Hopefully her results will come closer to the normal range!
