It was cold and rainy today, but there is a hint of spring in the air. I took this picture yesterday of cactus flowers at one of our neighbors’ yards. Pretty soon, the desert will be full of yellow, purple, pink, red, white and blue flowers. You can already see signs of spring everywhere. A Verdin has built a nest in the ironwood tree in front of our house. Finches are starting to wake us up earlier and earlier in the morning with each passing day. Gila Woodpeckers, Cactus Wrens, Roadrunners, Gambel’s Quails and a variety of hummingbirds and ducks seem more active than other times of the year. Their plumage is also fuller and brighter. Spring is definitely in the air!
As for my training, I went to the regular Monday abs class. It was more full than normal and it was a tough class. Julie (the instructor) pushes us hard!
I have already fully recovered from the half marathon a couple of days back!
