It feels surreal. I’m here in Boston with tens of thousands of other runners. It’s vibrant. It’s exciting. It’s crowded. It’s perfect!
At the convention center today, I picked up my bib (number 15010) and shopped and shopped. I have lots and lots of stuff with the official Boston Marathon unicorn mark on it. The expo is the best one I have been to so far. The official sponsor (adidas) happens to be one of my favorite brands; hence I now have a visor, t-shirt and a long-sleeve shirt with the official Boston Marathon logo. I already had a track-top and bottom before I came to Boston. I also bought the limited-edition Boston Marathon Saucony Kinvara 6 shoes!
We had fun at the expo spending a ton of time and money doing silly things like this Runner’s World cover shot. As you can see, I’m all smiles and look forward the race. I don’t care if there are 20MPH headwinds predicted with cold and rainy weather. It’s Boston and I am here!
I went for a quick run this afternoon on crowded Boston streets with all kinds of traffic. It is cold and windy, but it felt good to run! My heartrate is revving a bit higher than I expected, but I don’t care. I am going to enjoy the run on Monday without paying much heed to speed or pace or heartrate. I’m here to have fun and nothing will stop me now!
