What? No more triathlons? #firstworldproblems

I ran around Tempe Town Lake (5 miles) late this morning. It was a pleasant run for the most part, but I was laboring by the time I finished because it got quite hot. My pace was a pretty decent 8:15 per mile but my heart-rate was a little elevated (my heart-rate belt was also showing me some screwed up readings). It is obvious that I am not in the shape that I was in last month when Boston training was in full swing!

I’m still confused about the whole elevated Factor VIII blood-test results. I know that Googling medical information is probably not a good idea, but I can’t help it. If I understand it correctly, elevated Factor VIII means that I am more prone to blood-clots. I really hope this is not the case because my conservative hematologist will keep me on Xarelto for life; this means I won’t be able to bike; this means no triathlons. That would pretty much suck! #firstworldproblems
