The plan was to take it easy today. Although tomorrow’s race is not an “A” race for me, it is always good to rest the day before the race. I haven’t slept well over the past few days.
At around 10AM today, Melissa (from LLS) and I walked to the expo to pick up the race packet. The walk was pleasant in bright sunny weather with calm winds. My bib number is 3388 which means that I will start in corral number 3. I have put my finish time down as 1:41, but I plan to stop and take Snapathon pictures; hence my official finish time will be closer to 1:45 tomorrow.
I have a business colleague in Seattle (Laura) who I met for a quick bite and coffee before heading back to the hotel for a long afternoon nap. Since it’s a work day today (Friday), I finished all my work and caught some zzzzzs for about two hours this afternoon.
In the evening, the LLS inspiration dinner was at the hotel. We are about 130 people running to raise money for LLS and have raised a total of $368,000 for this race. Quite impressive! The top fund raisers have raised more than $10,000 each!
So now I am all ready for the race. As you can see from the picture, I will wear (from top to bottom), my Boston visor, the customary purple LLS tech-shirt with my bib pinned to it, my Lululemon shorts with an iPod in the left pocket and some nutrition in my back pocket. I’ll wear compression socks and my limited edition Boston Saucony Kinvara shoes. The weather is expected to be perfect tomorrow with temperatures in the low 60s and virtually no wind. The course is hilly, but that’s Seattle! I’ll be up at the crack of dawn tomorrow.
