Smile when it hurts!

Today was just another routine day at work. I had an early morning meeting followed by mundane tasks at work almost all day. It is so freaking HOT outside that getting into the car is dreadful. The restroom in our office complex is a short walk from my office; normally it is a refreshing walk but these days, even a short walk in the sun makes one want to jump in the pool! Ya, this is a #firstworldproblem!

In the afternoon today I went o Adele’s intense cardio sculpt class at The Village. With a mix of aerobic and strength moves, my heart was pumping, my glutes were throbbing and my arms were screaming for help. Somehow through all this, I managed to smile; something I have learnt from none other than the incredible Chrissie Wellington!

“It’s easier to smile than to grimace when you are hurting” she says. Of course this is easier said than done, but try it. Once you get the hang of it, it seems to separate the physical hurt from the emotions, and sometimes that’s all you need to keep on keeping on!
