Animas River in Durango, Colorado

We got in to Durango late last night. It was past midnight when we reached the hotel only to find that it was locked. After making a couple of calls and figuring the logistics, I was sleeping by around 1AM this morning.

This morning, I was up early and went out for an absolutely gorgeous run along the Animas river. The temperature was in the mid 50s and the sun was up with calm skies. The river water looked cold. It was gushing rapidly. I managed an easy and exhilarating 4-mile run. Durango sits at an elevation of around 6,500 feet; I didn’t realize it but I was actually huffing and puffing harder than normal with the thin air. I didn’t care. Phoenix is at 110 today. I was in perfect weather loving life!

The rest of the day was spent with our new client; the WayToGo! program for the City of Durango. I love the concept and the all the people working on the project. Everyone has such a positive outlook on life and they are all avid runners or bicyclists. The indoors takes a backseat to the outdoors in Durango. Gotta love it…
