I have another month or so before I go in for my blood tests again. I am cautiously optimistic that I will be off Xarelto (blood thinner) soon and will start bicycling again. For now, my concentration is on running.
My next big race is the NYC Marathon on November 1. I have not officially started training yet but am doing short easy runs of 6 miles or less. Until my blood test, I don’t want to put too much strain on my body; this will only skew the test results. Right after the test, I will have about 11 weeks to train for the NYC Marathon. It will be an intense program but I’m up for the challenge. I will probably squeeze in a race or two in September or October.
Today I went to The Village for a crosstraining class with a mixture of cardio aerobics, weights and strength. It wasn’t too intense a class but my arms will probably be sore tomorrow.
