Crosstrain Wednesdays

For New York marathon training, Wednesdays are going to be cross-training days. A bit of this and a bit of that and very little running will be the agenda on Wednesdays. Today, I tried my hand at the elliptical machine at The Village for 30 minutes followed by running on the indoor track for 15 minutes followed by the stair-climber for 15 minutes. I have to admit that I am a fan of neither the elliptical machine nor the stair climber. I find them both uncomfortable! It’s just another case of #firstworldproblems.

Missy has been doing better over the past week or so. She is back to her strong steroid dosage but it doesn’t seem to have any side effects on her. She can go for longish walks in the heat but sleeps a lot during the day. Her hind legs have grown weak with age but she is still very comfortable walking and slow running. She can’t jump much. I still miss Simi as much as ever. Her smiling face still adorns my desktop and sometimes I just stare at it. She was a happy dog. RIP Simi.
