Cardio, weights and core at The Village

The heat continues in Arizona. After the hot and humid 14-miler yesterday, it was time for a shakedown training session today. I went easy alternating between cardio (jogging on the indoor track), weights (biceps, triceps, lats, pecs, etc.) and core (lunges, squats, crunches, planks, etc.) for a good 80 minutes. By the end of it, I was quite spent but in a good way.

I have a new favorite salad place in town. I went there for the first time late last week and have already gone there twice this week. It’s called Mad Green located just south of Kierland on Scottsdale and Acoma. It serves up fresh healthy fare with or without meat. What makes it special are ingredients like edamame, beets, kale, toasted almonds, strawberries and figs. I am usually not a big salad fan but this is quite yummy!
