Cooling down in September

Today is another New York Marathon training Tuesday; another day of fartleks on the treadmill at The Village. The gym was crowded today with a few random teenage girls parading in their fancy Lululemon gear going from equipment to equipment every 5 minutes in small herds. It was all very peculiar.

Anyway, I got on my treadmill and ran pretty hard for 50 minutes at an average pace of just faster than 8-minute-mile. After warming up for 10 minutes, I ran 5 intervals of 3 minutes hard and 3 minutes easy  before cooling down for 10 minutes.

It’s a new month today. September brings cooler temperatures and cloudier skies. It rained hard in Phoenix last night. Over here in North Scottsdale we missed most of the brunt of the storm  but did get light rain. I hope it rains again a few times over the next couple of weeks. I have long runs this Saturday and then may run a half marathon next Saturday. Naman may come here over the long weekend!
