When I was a member at Lifetime Fitness, I used to go to spin class regularly. I used to sweat profusely and never thought I would find a workout that would make me sweat more. Well I have found one!
The cardio sculpt class with Jamie at The Village on Wednesday evenings leaves me completely drenched in sweat. Today’s class included a non-stop hour-long combination of running, jumping jacks, jumping rope, various moves on the bosu ball, burpies, lunges, push-ups, box jumps, speed-walking and a variety of upper and lower body weights. Wednesdays are supposed to be easy training days but lately, it’s a different story!
I signed up to run the Maggie’s Place 10k event on October 4. They have a variety of distances for the race (5k, 9k, 10 and 15k) and some pretty competitive folks show up. The race is around Tempe Town Lake; hence should be a fun, festive event. Let’s hope the temperature has cooled considerably by then! My PR for a 10k is 43:17 from back in 2012. I am not quite as fast as I was back then. I’ll be happy with anything around 45 minutes!
