When I can run 7+ miles at an 8:15 pace and control my heart rate in the low level-2 zone, I know I have trained hard. The only question is, “Am I peaking too soon?” Today, after running an effortless 7.25 miles in an hour with a peak heart-rate of 144, I was happy but questioning my own training plan. I still have 45 days to go before the New York Marathon. With the way I feel right now, I wish the marathon were tomorrow! I guess we will just have to wait and see.
The really silly Republican candidate debate was earlier today. Apparently, 23 million people watched; probably to see Trump’s theatrics. It’s like watching NASCAR just to see a crash; or ice hockey just to see a fight! I can’t believe that people are actually voting for someone who has made the following remarks:
“When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re not sending you. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.”
I am not a John McCain fan, but here is what The Donald said about him, “He’s not a war hero. He was a war hero because he was captured. I like people who weren’t captured.”
Oh and he’s a perv too! He said this about his own daughter, “I don’t think Ivanka would do that, although she does have a very nice figure. I’ve said if Ivanka weren’t my daughter, perhaps I’d be dating her.”
He accused Hillary Clinton of being a birther. Seriously? “Do you know that Hillary Clinton was a birther? She wanted those records and fought like hell. People forgot. Did you know John McCain was a birther? Wanted those records? They couldn’t get the records. Hillary failed. John McCain failed. Trump was able to get him to give something – I don’t know what the hell it was – but it doesn’t matter,”
Please tell me that even the Republican party is not crazy enough to nominate Trump. Oh, Tom Brady supports him. I guess it takes one to support one!
