New York plans are shaping up

The picture above was taken yesterday. I look pretty comfortable running the 10k. I wish the photographer had framed me so I could also see my shoes. I’m always curious about my foot-strike!

It feels tropical in Scottsdale. The heat is done for the year! There is some sort of low pressure hanging over Arizona sucking some moisture in. It’s been raining off and on for the past couple of days! It feels very tropical. I’ll enjoy it while I can cuz the sun will be back soon!

I took it easy at bootcamp today. Remnants of my neck pain are still showing signs of life and I don’t want to give them any fodder. I used super-light weights and mid-effort cardio. I still planked for 2 minutes to strengther my core.

With the final race out of the way before the NYC Marathon, I can now concentrate on my health. I still have one long run to go this Saturday (20 miles) but after that is taper! NYC will be fun. We plan to go to a TED talk, maybe go see The Book of Mormon on Broadway and of course there will be umpteen marathon-related events (including the nations parade in Central Park). I can’t wait…
