A day in Chicago with Sande and Kevin

I spent the day in Chicago with my old Columbus friends Sande and Kevin. I haven’t seen them in more than 20 years. We had a lot of catching up to do, but nothing has changed in our friendship. It was as if I was at their house in Columbus yesterday for dinner. It was warm and loving. It felt good. We talked about people and places and ideas and work. We talked about philosophy and life and family and travel. It was long overdue. I’m glad I made the one-day stopover in Chicago on my way to India.

Tomorrow, I take off for India. I don’t look forward to the journey but I look forward to connecting with family and friends. I’m sad that Binita is not coming with me, and Missy is not at 100%. I’m sure my mind and heart will be partly in India and partly in Scottsdale. Such is life…
