Salivating over the Garmin Forerunner 35

Garmin Forerunner 35

Garmin announced the Forerunner 35 last week. I’m salivating. It is nice and sleek. It has built-in GPS (eat your heart our iWatch). It has a built-in heart rate monitor (optical). It has bluetooth. It has ANT. It has an accelerometer. It has all the functions that my current 920XT has (except swim functions). I can’t wait to get my hands on the Forerunner 35. It is scheduled to be released in late September.

Unfortunately, I won’t get my hands on it until after the Berlin Marathon.

My training is going splendidly; if you can call running 22 nonstop miles on a treadmill splendid! Yep, that’s not a typo; it took me 3 hours and 4 minutes to run 22 miles. Running on a treadmill is boring, running 22 is the epitome of boredom. I consumed 4 Gatorade Endurance gel-packs, 1 Stinger Honey Waffle and 3 bottles of water mixed in with Hydrax and Skratch powder; but I ran all of it non-stop. You need a strong body and a stronger mind. On Sunday, I was blessed with both.

Training also included a few bikerides for crosstraining, a few more runs (including another Yasoo 800 times ten session) and a few cardio-strength sessions with jump-rope,

Number 34867. That’s my bib for the Berlin Marathon. It arrived officially via email earlier this week. $hit just got real!

On the 20th of September, we fly to Europe. We will spend a couple of days in Copenhagen and reach Berlin on the 23rd morning. It’s taper time from now until then.
