3,000 piece jigsaw puzzle

We returned back from India the day before Thanksgiving. After a jet-lagged Thanksgiving weekend, I was off to the DC area for work and then off to Flagstaff last week. I was also slightly under the weather throughout the week with a mild but annoying irritation in my throat.

My workout regimen since returning from India has been light to moderate including a few easy and short runs and a few easy bike-rides. I did go out the Saturday of Thanksgiving for an intense ride with the Cyclologic A/B group. I didn’t know at the time but riding with us was Erin Densham, 2012 London Olympics triathlon bronze medalist. To say that she is fast is an understatement. I could barely hang on drafting behind her.

Tokyo Marathon (February 26, 2017) training officially began today (although today was rest day). To prep for the race, I have signed up for:

  • December 18, 2016: Desert Classic 5k in Peoria, AZ
  • January 15, 2017: Arizona Rock ‘n’ Roll 10k in Phoenix, AZ
  • February 4, 2017: Sedona Half Marathon in Sedona, AZ

I also registered for the Chicago Marathon lottery for 2017. I will find out on December 15 if I won a spot. I expect to finish running all 6 Marathon Majors in 2017. I only have Tokyo and Chicago to go.

Overall, things have settled into a routine. After the unfortunate Trump victory, I am pretty much boycotting watching TV. I’m not interested in American winter sports (football, basketball or ice hockey) and all the political banter on TV is just annoying.
